Hello Jewlie
Today was my second day of my 10 day vacation from work!
I slept in, caught up on K&K Take New York, watched a little How I Met Your Mother and then headed off for a long walk through the East Village and Washington Sq. Park. I spent a long time in my old hood, thinking about my time at NYU and just listening to some tunes. I found a little sunny spot and just…took it all in. It was definitely one of those, “I can’t believe I’ve lived here 4.5 years” kind of moments.
Definitely the highlight of my day was seeing Mark for the first time in 2 years! Ya’ll might remember Mark from 3 Halloweens ago. He was really good friends with Rachel and I. Anyway, he went back to England for what felt like forever and is back in the States and studying in Virginia for the semester.
We obviously had a lot to catch up on/chat about and so we headed to Starbucks and just chatted for an hour or so. I forgot how funny British accents are. It’s like everything is funnier with an accent. Then Nina FINALLY met up with us (4.5 hours after she was supposed to meet up with me) and went to a birthday dinner for her and A was there! So much laughter. It was so lovely to be with old friends again.
Now I’m back home, fresh out of the shower and eating cold pizza with Crystal and catching up on our TV. Can’t believe I won’t see her for an entire week! The longest we’ve been apart since July.
But I’m all packed and excited to get back to Michigan (and not be on crazy drugs and having surgery). See you in 12 hours Michigan!
